Here We Go!

After 10 years, we’ve finally done it! God planted a seed in my heart many years ago. Through the challenges of life, working, and raising children the time never quite felt right to jump all in. We began in 2013 with a vision to provide Christmas gifts for families in need. Eventually, that grew and we began asking for names of families who would benefit from some assistance during the holidays. The need was more than our family was able to meet, so we began to ask friends who may want to be a part of this and also provide gifts. Eventually, food boxes were added and we were able to meet some additional family and household needs.

While this was great, a thought continued to press in. “Why do all these people jump in so generously at Christmas, but the needs are year round?”. It became clear that we needed to figure out a way to help in other ways throughout the year. We were called to love and care for our neighbors after all!

Through much prayer and years of waiting, we finally established an official nonprofit organization. This will help us to fundraise and serve our community year-round (our organization is totally dependent on community donations and support, by the way). Our intention is not to be able to meet all of the needs ourselves but to engage the community in meeting the needs of others. We are striving to be both a resource and a conduit.
